Postpartum Doula
A postpartum doula is an experienced and trained person who provides support to the mother and her family in the first 12 weeks after birth. She offers education, companionship and nonjudgmental support. In addition, she can provide newborn care tips, infant soothing, siblings support, and help with routine household tasks, including meal preparation, dishes, laundry and grocery shopping. Further, she can offer evidence-based information on topics such as infant feeding and emotional and physical recovery from birth. The goal is for parents to become empowered and encouraged to find their own way to thrive in their new life with their new baby.
